Checking-IN Panel Talk

“The Bi Experience of Hospitality”

21st September 2023

6:30pm - 9:30pm

Bankside Hotel, Autograph Collection

2 Upper Ground

London, SE1 9JU

Checking-IN is proud to be hosting
an in-person networking event and panel discussion at the spectacular Bankside Hotel

Oftentimes when the LGBTQIA+ community is reduced to “either/or” scenarios, be it sexual attraction or gender, it all can get a bit too binary!

It is true that the hospitality industry has made great strides towards inclusion for gay, lesbian, trans and non-binary people, but can we confidently say the same for those who identify as bisexual?

Do people in our bi community just get lumped in with either the gays or the straights when thinking about their needs and wants?

Or are they part of a previously not considered group providing more insights and opportunities to help us make our guests and consumers feel welcomed and included and for our colleagues and team members to feel valued and safe?

Join us at the gorgeous Bankside Hotel for a panel discussion featuring bisexual people from the hospitality industry talking about their experiences both as a customer and as an employee.

We ask what hospitality can do more to make bi people feel recognized, appreciated and included, whether they are a consumer or an employee. It promises to be a thought-provoking evening where we explore what it means for each and every member of our community to exist fully as themselves. No questions. No invalidation. Just being.

We hope to see you there.

Our Panellists

  • Jane Devlin Grammer (she/her)

Diversity & Belonging Champion at Dorchester Collection

Driven by her personal experiences caring for a disabled sibling while navigating the world as a bi woman, championing diversity and inclusion has always been a personal mission for Jane. Until recently, her mission was grounded in the corporate world helping global organisations foster inclusive work environments. She has brought this experience to Dorchester Collection where she leads the organisation’s global Diversity, Inclusion & Belonging strategy.

  • Pamela Prineas (she/her)

She made the bold move to London at the age of 21, where she felt like she was in a safe environment to explore her sexuality while navigating settling into a new country and lifestyle. Now, Pam has been proudly out for the past 4 years and is an advocate for queer rights and representation not just in her personal life, but also throughout her work. She understands the challenges that come with breaking the mould from what is expected of you in traditional cultural environment and has never felt happier in her own skin than she does at this present moment.
